Abstract
This research is entitled “A Comperative Between Novel and Film Where the Crawdads Sing.” This thesis aims to reveal the adaptation process in the novel Where the Crawdads Sing by Delia Owens, adapted into a film of the same title by Olivia Newman, and the differences between the novel and film versions. The method used in this research is the descriptive qualitative method. The theory used in this thesis is the ekranisasi theory from Pamusuk Eneste and the element of fiction theory by Robert Stanton. Both theories analyze the adaptation of fictional elements from novels to films. In addition, the differences between the novel and the film occur many significant differences in the plots, characters and settings, whereas in the theme and style & tone only have a few differences.
