Abstract

This research, entitled An Analysis of the Reinforcement Effects of The Greatest Showman Movie from the perspective of B.F. Skinner's Theory. The purpose of this research is to analyze and describe how the surrounding environment acts as
reinforcement that affects Barnum's behavior in The Greatest Showman movie until he finds the meaning of life. This study applies B.F. Skinner's operant conditioning theory, focusing on positive reinforcement and negative reinforcement, to examine the environmental impact on Barnum’s behavior. The research also analyzing character and characterization Barnum's as the main character in The Greateast Showman movie. The method used in this study is a descriptive method. The result of this study shows that the surrounding environment has an important influence on the changes in character and characterization of Barnum as the main character. Through the surrounding environment, Barnum can find the meaning of life and learns to balance between his job and family life. The writer hopes that this research
study can help readers understand the influence the surrounding environment has on building the character.
