Abstract

Background: Diabetes Mellitus (DM) is a collection of symptoms caused by increased blood glucose levels due to progressive insulin secretion decline, often associated with insulin resistance. The prevalence of DM in DKI Jakarta has risen from 2.5% to 3.4%, affecting approximately 250,000 individuals. One nonpharmacological intervention to improve foot sensitivity in DM patients is foot exercise, which can address sensitivity issues, strengthen thigh and calf muscles, and enhance foot sensitivity. Objective: To describe nursing care through diabetic foot exercise intervention to reduce blood glucose levels and improve foot sensitivity in elderly patients Mrs A and Mrs N with a medical diagnosis of Diabetes Mellitus at STW RIA Pembangunan. Implementation: Nursing interventions for Mrs A were conducted on August 2930 and September 2, 2024. For Mrs N, interventions werecarried out on August 29 and September 2- 3, 2024, at STW RIA Pembangunan. Diabetic foot exercise was
implemented to address issue related to Diabetes Mellitus, aiming to reduce blood glucose level and improve foot sensitivity. Results: Diabetic foo exercise effectively addresse nursing problems in elderly patients with Diabetes Mellitus It helped lower blood glucose levels an improv foot sensitivity i both Mrs Aand Mrs N. Conclusion and
Recommendation: Based on literature reviews and intervention
outcomes, it is concluded that diabeticfoot exercise can
reduce Blood glucose levels and

improve foot sensitivity in clients with Diabetes Mellitus. This intervention
should be complemented by diabetes control through healthy eating habits and
regular physical activity.
