Abstract

The tittle of this undergraduate thesis is An Analysis of Hierarchy of Needs and Characterization of Nicole Barber Character in Marriage Story Movie by Noah Baumbach (2019) through Psychoanalysis Approach The following question areappropriate to match the research problems. 1. Who is the main character in marriage story movie 2. How is the characterization of the main character in marriage story movie 3. How does the motivation reveal in marriage story movie. The data source comes from the Marriage Story Movie (2019). To analyze this research the researcher using Abraham H Maslow theory to analyze the hierarchy of needs and Boogs and Petrie Theory to Analyze the Characterization. Based on the analysis, it shows that all the hierarchy of needs of Nicole’s are fulfilled, and the researcher also discovered several characters in the main characters, such as care and concern, competitiveness, emotionality, and appreciate Things.
