Abstract

The title of this undergraduate thesis is Women’s Resistance Portrayed in Harry Bradbeer’s Enola Holmes (2020) Along Wit h The Characterization. Therefore, this research aims to reveal the Enola Holmes’s characterizat ion and women’s resistance shown in the script of Enola Holmes by Harry Bradbeer. The theory of characterizat ion by Richard Gill is used to reveal Enola Holmes’s characterization and power feminism theory by Naomi Wolf is used to examine women’s resistance through Enola Holmes’s conflict and struggle. The purpose of the research is 1) To analyze the main woman characterizat ion of the movie, and 2) To reveal the women’s resistance in the movie conducted by the woman character. This t ype of research is qualitat ive descriptive research. The data source comes from Enola Holmes's movie. The result of this research are there 2 types of Enola ’s characterizat ion, namely ingenuit y and the masculine and comfy appearance of Enola. In addition, there are forms of women’s resistance in Naomi Wolf’s power feminism perspect ive, which consists of six forms, namely women’s independence, women’s toughness, women's priorit izing others over themselves, gender equalit y, and women's rights to make their own life decisions.
