Abstract

In this study, the main topic is the characteristics of women's speech, using the female character in the film Tangled as a data source. The research was conducted to answer the following problems. (1) What are the features of female language used by the female characters in the movie “Tangled” ?, (2) What is the most dominant feature used by female characters in Tangled Movie?. The researcher uses a qualitative description that analyzes the text and the film as data to determine the characteristics of women's words in the female characters in the film "Tangled". The results of this study found 52 data in which 9 out of 10 features were used, the most dominant feature or the most used by female characters was Lexical Hedges or Filler, the character that often appears in this feature is Rapunzel. Basically Rapunzel is under the confines of her mother so she feels constrained and not free. So she often feels uncertainty and nervous, Therefore, uncertainty and nervousness are the dominant meanings that emerge from Lexical Hedges or Filler by female characters.
