Abstract
Pramuka Island is one of a cluster in a several groups of small islands located in Kepulauan Seribu regency which is the administrative center of Kepulauan Seribu, in the village of Panggang Island. This research aims to determine the composition and diversity of phytoplankton in the waters of Pramuka Island, assuming that the higher index value the diversity of phytoplankton in the water indicates that the water is relatively well ecologically. This research was held in November 2012. Phytoplankton samples taken from three stations using the plankton net No. 25. Result identified 26 genus of Bacillariophyta or Diatomae, 11 genus of Pyrrophyta or Dinoflagellata, 2 genus of Cyanophyta and 1 genus of Chlorophyta. The abundance of phytoplankton dominated by Chaetocheros. The index value diversity in Pramuka Island waters ranged from 1,319 – 2,64, based on water quality, the water in Pramuka Island were classified as medium polluted.
