Abstract
This study focused on the translation of phrasal verbs from the Interview with the Vampire series. This study examined the various phrasal verb kinds and translation techniques used in the phrases. The analysis of the data was done using a descriptive qualitative technique. By identifying the phrasal verbs in both the source and target languages, the data were then examined. Wyatt, McCarthy & O'Dell, and Molina Albir's theories are used in this study. The findings of this study revealed that there were 36 separable phrasal verbs, 3 prepositional phrasal verbs, 21 intransitive phrasal verbs, 20 transitive phrasal verbs, and 5 inseparable phrasal verbs. There were 8 literal translations, 3 borrowings, 3 generalizations, 2 descriptive, 1 compensating, 1 transposing, and 1 established equivalent. From the 20 data I examined, literal translation was used the most translation strategies (13 data), followed by borrowing (2 data) and generalization (2 data).
