Abstract

The researcher aims to analyze the category shift in English scripts and Indonesian subtitles observed in Coco movies and shows through the Disney+ Hotstar. The reseacher use Catford and Molina and Albir theory for analyzing the data and use qualitative method in this study. The data is from the script and the subtitle of Coco movie as the source of data. The result from this research showed that structure shift was the type that mostly used in this movie, with total 100 data of category shifts, there are 80 data of structure shifts, 15 data of intra-system shifts, 3 data of class shifts, and 2 data of unit shifts.
