Abstract
This research focuses on the analysis of noun phrase translation techniques found in the movie subtitle of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe. The study employs a qualitative research method and utilizes descriptive analysis to explore the translation techniques used in rendering noun phrases from the source language (English) into the target language (Indonesian). The data collected were carefully examined to identify the translation techniques based on the framework proposed by Molina and Albir. The findings reveal that among the various techniques identified, Literal translation is the most frequently employed, accounting for 68 instances in the analyzed subtitle. This indicates a tendency towards maintaining the original structure and meaning of the noun phrases during the translation process. The study provides insights into the translation practices in subtitling and contributes to the broader understanding of translation techniques in audiovisual media.
