Abstract

The title of this research is Unraveling the Layers of Meaning: An Analysis of Dream Interpretation in The Science of Sleep Movie. The objectives of this research is to interpret the meaning of dream in The Science of Sleep movie. This analysis used descriptive qualitative method. The theory used to conduct this research is the interpretation of dreams by Sigmund Freud, consisting of manifest content, latent content, dream as wish fulfilment, dream sources, and dreamwork. The findings of this research show there are 7 manifest and latent content in the main character dreams. This research also shows there are 2 categorize of symbol in the main character dream which consist of 6 wish of fulfilment and 3 fear of realization.
