Abstract

This undergraduate thesis is entitled “Marxist’s Feminism and Black Liberations in Novel The Help by Kathryn Stockett”. The purpose of this thesis are to explain how is capitalism be the cause of black women and black community suffering, and how patriarchal society as one of the foundational tool of capitalism oppressed black women. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative method. ”. In analyzing the novel, the writer of this study mainly applies Marxismfeminism theory in revealing the reason behind the oppression toward the women depicted in the novel. In conducting this study, library research method is applied in order to get information and theories which are supporting. The result of this thesis shows the discrimination, exploitation, sexism that happened on black women and how black women works hand in hand to liberate themselves with the help of Skeeter Phelan to tell their stories on how they are treated unequally as black women and worker in the white house.
