Abstract

Metaphor is a literary device used to relate one thing to another. When explaining two different things in speech or writing, metaphor is helpful. Metaphor can also be used to emphasize or embellish a term. Metaphors are not only used in poetry and music. That is also depicted in the movie. Metaphor is an intriguing topic to discuss because it serves as the conceptual foundation for human thought. Metaphors are used frequently in everyday life. This study, "CONCEPTUAL METAPHORS AND METAPHOR OF EMOTIONS USED BY THE MAIN CHARACTERS IN MOANA MOVIE" makes an effort to classify various metaphoric structures and to look at their role in the movie. This study also investigates how metaphor affects emotion. These metaphors include ontological metaphor, which treats an abstract as a separate thing, orientation metaphor, which deals with a spatial orientation that is drawn from our physical or cultural experiences, and structural metaphor, which combines concepts. Additionally, the researcher analyzes the emotions identified in the data using Kovecses' (1993) theory. These emotions include anger, fear, joy, sorrow, love, lust, shame, and surprise.
