Abstract

This research discuss about an Analysis of Affixation in the Holy Quran
Surah Al-Ghasyiyah. The data in this thesis are taken from the English
Translation of the Holy Qur'an Surah Al-Ghasyiyah. This Thesis is using
Affixation process theory by Bauer, L (1988) to find out the Derivational and
Inflectional Prefixes or Suffixes. The research methodology is the descriptive
qualitative method, since the collected data is in the form of sentences. The writer
found 35 pieces of data on Affixation in the English Translation of the Holy
Qur'an Surah Al-Ghasyiyah. This research has analyzed all the data. Specifically,
there were 15 data Inflectional Suffixes, 18 data Derivational Suffixes, 2 data
Derivational prefixes. The derivation is the most dominant process that is found in
Surah Al-Ghasyiyah. There were 18 data from the total 35 of the data.
