Abstract

Translation quality assessment is one of the corpuses in translation research. The
problem of this research is about the translation quality of English Literature
students from Universitas Nasional Jakarta. The objective of this research is to
analyze the students’ translation quality in terms of accuracy, acceptability, and
readability in translating Journal Entitled “The Effect of Using GrammarTranslation

Method on Acquiring English As A Foreign Language” By Ishraq
M.Aqel to Indonesian. The writer uses a qualitative descriptive method to aim the
objectives of the research. The data were analyzed using Nababan’s scale of
Translation Quality based on the criteria of acceptability, readability, and accuracy
aspects. The data were collected in the class. The respondents in this study are
English Literature students from Universitas Nasional, Jakarta. Based on the result
of this research, It can be concluded that the translation quality of translating the
journal abstract is low. most are inaccurate and unacceptable.
