Abstract

The method of this study is descriptive qualitative. This research is about compound nouns, it is entitled The Translation Analysis of Compound Noun in To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before Movie Script And Its Translation Quality Assessment In Indonesian. It aims to analyze the types of compound nouns that exist in the data, the translation technique used by the translator, and the translation quality assessment of the translation. To analyze, theories by Frank, Molina & Albir, Nababan et al. were used in the analyzing process, also some supporting theories such as Newmark, Chesterman, and Vinay & Darbelnet. The result shows that the most used translation technique is established equivalent with the percentage of 50% and literal translation 23,33%. Moreover, the translation quality assessment shows that most of the data shows high accuracy level (91,67%), high acceptability level (100%), and high readability level (101,67%).
