Abstract

Article was aims to explore and analysis the translation technique used by the translator in
translating the expression of bald on record politeness strategy expressed in the movie script
“Cruella”, and to show the impact of translation technique used by the translator in translating the
expression in this movie in terms accuracy and acepptability. Method applied was descriptive
qualitative research by collecting and analyzing both the Indonesian and English versions of movie
script. The samples of were classified by Brown & Levinson (1987) politeness strategy, also the
translation technique by Molina & Albir (2002), and the translation quality assessment (TQA) by
Nababan. It can be concluded that there are only ten strategies found from the collected data and
almost all data was identified as an acceptable and accurate translation.
