Abstract
This research aimed to find out the negative emotions and feelings existed in Inside
Out movie and to identify the translation procedures used by the translator in
translating Inside Out movie from English into Indonesian subtitles. The method
applied was descriptive qualitative research by collecting and analyzing the data
from the Inside Out movie subtitle. The translation procedure used to analyze the
form of words and phrases in negative emotions and feelings was by Vinay and
Darblenet which classified into seven types: borrowing, calque, literal,
transposition, equivalence, modulation, and adaptation. As the result, the translation
procedures used were four of the translation procedures mentioned above;
borrowing, literal translation, transposition, and equivalence. It can be concluded
that there are 46 terms of negative emotions and 22 terms of negative feelings. The
most frequent translation procedure used was literal translation.
