Abstract

Arthurian Legend has always been a part of the literature world; it is important to not only focusing on the modern literature but also on old tales like legends and
myths. However, this research did not mean to analyse the legend alone. This research aims to analyse the intertextuality in Arthurian Legend and Seven Endless
Forests, through the intrinsic elements of both stories. The data will be collected from the narrative of both stories and analysed thoroughly from the lens of
intertextuality by Julia Kristeva. This research revealed that there are some
intertextual relationships found between Arthurian Legend and Seven Endless
Forests, mainly on the similarities between the theme and characters. This research
suggests that it is necessary to becoming more familiar with old tales, intertextuality
is everywhere, and it needs knowledge in few aspects to be able to see it thoroughly.
Furthermore, the result of this research will deepen the understanding of
intertextuality and Arthurian Legend.
