Abstract

The title of this undrgraduated thesis is “Emotion Classifications of the Main
Character from Incendies Movie”. This study identified how the classification of
emotions can be seen from the main characters in the film. The purposes of this
undergraduated thesis is to describe and analysis the emotion classification depicted
from the main characters. The subject of this research is the main characters in the
movie Incendies. The data obtained in this research is through library research. In
assessing the validity of the data, the technique used is purposive sampling. The
method used in this research is descriptive qualitative method. The theories used in
this thesis are the emotional classification theory by David Krech. The theory used
to analysis the classification of emotions, which is divided into four parts including,
Basic Emotions; happy, anger, fear, and sadness, Emotions linked to sensory
stimuli; pain, disgust, and pleasure, Emotions associated with self-assessment;
success and failure, shame, guilt and regret, Emotions related to other people; love
and hate. The results show that there are 12 emotions forms of emotion
classification seen from the main character with a total of 27 data
