Abstract
This study investigates how the artist's involvement in the legislative elections of 2014. The involvement of artists in politics is not a new, if we look at the countries that established democracies like the United States, the artist's involvement in politics either as a supporter (endorser) as well as the candidate long-standing, such as President Ronald Reagan before the artist, Arnold Schwarzeneger also went on to become governor of California. Two artists chosen for two periods of leadership. Then Barack Obama also given celebrity status was elected for the second time. Indonesia's involvement in political life artist from year to year becomes increasingly, both in local elections and legislative elections. In the 2009 legislative elections by 18 artists selected as a member of the legislature and the lack of performance and achievement amid artist who became an Member of Parliament in 2009, this did not dampen the artist to re-run for the legislative elections. Then the legislative elections in 2014 gave birth to 18 selected artists, finding which emerges is that the artists who put up many who seek political fortunes with an ulterior motive in the power struggle in parliament. The party does not have a recruitment system based on meritocracy that allows the best people with the capacity, experience a more adequate nominated.
