Abstract

Diabetes mellitus is a chronic disease that causes diabetic foot ulcer comolication with a percentage of 4-19% of patients during their lives. The healing process of diabetic ulcers is influenced by internal and external factors. The purpose of this study is to find out what are the factors that affect the wound healing process in diabetic ulcer patients at Dr. Suyoto Hospital, South Jakarta. This study uses a cross-sectional approach. Theopulation of this study is a diabetic ulcer patient who underwent wound treatment at Dr. Suyoto Hospital from June to September 2022. Purposive sampling was used in the sampling technique of 88 respondents. The instruments used are checklists, dietary questionnaires in DFU (Diabetic Foot Ulcer) patients and GCU Tools. An alternative chi-square test fisher's exact test is used tosee a relationship. The results of this study showed that there was no significant relationship between age (p=1,000) and gender (p=0.963) factors and there was a significant relationship between nutrition (p=0.042), blood sugar levels (p=0.003), circulation (p=0.000), and wound stage (p=0.000) in the wound healing process of diabetic ulcer patients. In this study, there were two unrelated factors, namely age and gender and there were four related factors, namely nutrition, blood sugar levels, circulation, and wound stage that affect the wound healing process of diabetic ulcer patients. The results of this study can be used as a source of data for Dr. Suyoto Hospital, South Jakarta, and knowledge for diabetic ulcer patients about what factors can affect the wound healing process of diabetic ulcer patients.
