Abstract

Instructional communication model application research on Citizenship Education courses in college came from the observation of the reality of the emergence of a negative response and the lack of interest of the students towards Citizenship Education courses. Then, the results of these observations are any problems, that is certainly the case can not be separated from the capability, capacity, and credibility of the lecturers in mastering and packaging of messages through devices utilizing information technology and communication media in teaching their Citizenship Education, so that the process of transfer knowledge is not considered innovative, analytical, accessive, evaluative, and communicative.The theoretical basis is used to analyze the problem of this study is the Instructional Communications Approach and media literacy. This study was analyzed by Herbart Aperception Learning Theory thinking to obtain findings significance on the process of teaching or knowledge, social life between lecturer-student, awareness, empowerment, and social transformation. The purpose of this research is to analyzes of capability’s lecturers in their instructional communication. The research method used was a qualitative approach explored through observational case studies. The conclusion of this study is that although there are efforts to educate and transform the substance of good teaching from the lecturers of Education Citizenship, developing applicable instructional communication models have not implemented by Citizenship Education lecturers as comprehensive.
