Abstract

The focus of this study will be on translation of phrasal verbs from the selected English songs by NCT 127. This study aims to categorize the various phrasal verb varieties, determine the method of translation, and evaluate the quality of the phrasal verb translation in the songs. A qualitative and quantitative method is used in this research. This Research applying Nababan's idea of translation quality (2002) and Molina and Albir (2002) for the Translation Technique . According to the study's findings, the songs "Regular," "Highway to Heaven," "Cherry Bomb," "What we Talking about," "Let's Shut Up and Dance," and "So Am I" are where a number of phrasal verbs were first utilized. The lyrics data was obtained from Genius, while SM Entertainment provided the translations via the official NCT127 YouTube channel. 10 transitive verbs, 9 transitive separable verbs, and 17 intransitive verbs were among the 36 pieces of data the researcher acquired from the six songs. 2 reduction translations, 11 language compression techniques, 10 transposition strategies, and 13 literal linguistic techniques are among the methods used. Although many of the phrasal verbs in these songs are erroneous, some of them are actually crucial parts of the lyrics. Due to the fact that these 6 songs' translations are nonetheless clear, acceptable, and readable in the TL, their quality is generally less accurate.
