Abstract

This study examines the novel Wonka using a Marxist approach that highlights the social class structure and power dynamics from bourgeoisie Class, Wonka, as the main character, is depicted as belonging to the proletariat class, which is oppressed and exploited by the bourgeoisie, who control the means of production and the power system. The study reveals how class consciousness emerges through Wonka struggle to improve his social position within an unfair capitalist system. This class conflict reflects a systemic power struggle where the ruling class maintains its dominance through exploitation and social control. Using Marx's theory of class struggle, this research demonstrates how class structure and collective consciousness can serve as tools to challenge oppressive power systems and open up possibilities for social change.This study employs a descriptive qualitative method with observation and data analysis techniques of dialogue in the novel. This study employs a Marxist theoretical perspective to investigate the novel's portrayal of class conflict as a mirror of the capitalist power structure, which not only sustains economic disparities but also obstructs upward social movement. Wonka, in his role as the youthful central character.
